This is from my latest and last project of the year. It is Residential accomodation for 150people. Well to tell the truth it is a group project, but I am the group leader.
This project grew from one node that would be repeated to create a final design that would fit into the site and interact with everything on it. The node became a stem cell if you like, that eventually differentiated into different tissues, forming organs and now at the end of the scheme a whole organism.
I have been reading on how infromation is stored in cells, organisms ect. I imagine the building as an e-surface. An e-surface being a flat plane in space on the site that has been pushed and pulled by forces such as the surrounding buildings, trees, slope, sunlight and paths.
This image is only part of what I will use the "advertise" to the students that even though each node is the same, the nodes still have their own identity through coloured elements in them. THerefore they will associate themselves with, the coulours: red, blue and yellow. My aim to to get the students interested in how they can make each node thier own.
