The Magic Flute - Diana Damrau performing the Queen of the Night aria
I have just watched the South African version of the Magic Flute and was completely blown away. Kentridge added some wonderful effects to the opera, but the opera itself is sublime! It must be seen.
I think Wolfgang would be delighted by Kentridge's interpretation of the Singspiel (Opera) which premiered in Vienna on September 30, 1791 - exactly 216 years ago to the day.
